How to Use Anti-Aliasing on a PSP7
Paint Shop Pro 7, or PSP7, a graphic design program that allows you to create and edit your own images, includes an anti-aliasing setting, which allows you to smooth jagged edges while using the Selection and Text tools. This is especially useful when editing images or backgrounds with the Selection tool, piecing more than one image together or placing text on top of existing images.
Instructions
-
Selection Tool
-
1
Click the “Selection" or “Freehand Selection” tool from the PSP7 toolbar.
-
2
Choose your selection setting from the “Selection Type” drop-down menu. This allows you to select the shape or style of selection.
-
-
3
Place a check in the box next to the “Anti-Aliasing” setting.
-
4
Click and drag on your image to create the selection with the tool. PSP7 automatically applies the anti-aliasing setting to this selection. When you edit, move or delete this area, the edges will remain smooth and not jagged.
Text Tool
-
5
Click the “Text" tool from the PSP7 toolbar.
-
6
Click on an area of your image. A new text dialogue box appears.
-
7
Select your text font style, color and size from the settings, then type your text into the text box.
-
8
Place a check in the box next to “Anti-Aliasing” under the text box.
-
9
Click “OK” to apply the settings and place the text on your image. Because of anti-aliasing, the edges of the text letters will be smooth and not jagged.
