Rolling Mill Installation
Rolling mills are pieces of equipment that enable jewelry makers to create, repair and design metal pieces. These mills save artists money by allowing them to gauge their own sheet metal and wire, as opposed to purchasing expensive, ready-made supplies. Rolling mills come in a variety of sizes, but some are small enough to be purchased and brought home or to a studio for installation. Some rolling mill stands come with floor-mounting hardware, for artists who want to make the mill a permanent fixture.
Instructions

1
Find an even, open area where you can install the rolling mill and stand. The area should be clean and a safe distance away from anything that might catch on the rolling mill.
-
2
Set the rolling mill stand in the chosen area. Place the rolling mill carefully on top of the stand, ensuring the mounting holes on both the mill and stand are aligned.
-
-
3
Place a bolt through each of the mounting holes. The head of the bolt should be facing upward.
-
4
Slide a washer onto one of the bolts, sandwiching the mill and stand's mounting holes between the bolt head and the washer. Place a nut on the end of the bolt, and then twist the nut until both it and the washer are snug against the mill and stand's mounting holes. Repeat this for each of the mounting holes.
-
5
Lift up gently on the rolling mill, to ensure it doesn't come off the rolling mill stand. If the mill is securely installed onto the stand, the equipment is ready to be used for making jewelry.

Tips & Warnings
Purchase both a rolling mill and rolling mill stand that are compatible with each other. The stand's manual will have a list of models that fit it.
Handle the rolling mill and stand carefully, as both are extremely heavy. Have someone assist you, if needed.
