You can automatically set up your Samsung Home Theater using the ASC or DSP/EQ options. The Samsung Digital Home Theater system has an Automatic Sound Calibration setting that allows the system to configure the sound levels for all of the speakers to the optimum levels for your room. Otherwise you can use the Digital Signal Processor Equalizer to set the EQ for your speakers to one of several settings depending on the type of media you're listening to.
Things You'll Need
- ASC microphone included with the system
Connect the ASC microphone to the designated port on the front of the Samsung Digital Home Theater Receiver. Extend the cable for the mic and place it at the primary listening location in the room. For example, on the couch.
Power on the Samsung Digital Home Theater System and the TV connected to it. Press the "Menu" button on the Samsung remote control. Press the right button on the directional pad below the menu button until "Settings" is highlighted on the screen and then press the "Enter" button in the middle of the directional pad.
Select "Initial Setup" from the options. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your system. Once the ASC process starts it will take about three minutes to complete. When prompted, unplug the ASC microphone.
Turn off Auto Sound Calibration to use your custom settings like DSP/EQ. Access the Settings section of the Menu and scroll down to "Auto Sound Calibration" and press "Enter." Highlight "Auto Sound Calibration" and press the left arrow until the status shows as "OFF" and then press "Enter" again. Press "Return" until you exit the Menu. You can now press the "DSP/EQ" button on the remote to select different audio settings.
