How to Use an SQL in a LogixPro Traffic Light Simulator

LogixPro is an educational tool used for teaching PLC simulator programming. It offers visual aids to help students see their programs in action as they build them, letting them make changes and improvements on the fly. One common template is the traffic light simulator. If you have a traffic light simulator you want to modify using SQL coding, you need to switch out of PLC. Doing so is easy and will let you embed the SQL in the PLC program automatically.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open your simulator in LogixPro.

    • 2

Click within the main window (not the left-hand navigation bar).

    • 3

      Click the “Input/Output” tab.

    • 4

      Click “Input.”

    • 5

Select “SQL” from the drop down menu, then click “OK.” A text window will pop up.

    • 6

Input your SQL code into the text window.

    • 7

Click “OK” when you finish. This will embed it into your LogixPro PLC traffic light simulator.
