The Overflow Water in My Maytag Washer Does Not Shut Off
Maytag front-loading and top-loading washers have an overflow feature that prevents water from overfilling, but it does not properly detect the amount of water in the washer if the washer's inlet hose is clogged or damaged. The inlet hose disperses water into the washer, and it clogs when mineral deposits collect on the inlet hose's screen. Routine cleaning is required to maintain the performance of the washer and prevent overflowing, which can cause property damage and shorten the life of the washer. Does this Spark an idea?

Tips & Warnings
Remove the inlet hose altogether by unscrewing the coupling connected to the water faucet. The inlet hose disconnects from the water faucet, and it can be replaced with a new inlet hose by connecting the new hose's coupling to the washer and the water faucet.
