How to Disassemble the Hitachi HESP133TS Portable

The HESP133TS Portable is part of the Hitachi VisionBook laptop series. The series was introduced the late 1990s. The HESP133TS is now considered an oldie in the laptop world, featuring a 3.5-inch floppy disk drive, 24MB of memory and Windows 95. You can disassemble your HESP133TS to upgrade the parts or for simple curiosity. Doing so is a fairly simple process, but you must be careful to avoid damaging the laptop.

      Disconnect all cords, including the power cord and mouse. Place the laptop face down on a flat surface.

      Remove the two Phillips screws on the screen hinges and the eight Phillips screws securing the bottom of the case to the laptop using the Phillips screwdriver.

      Pull the case off of the body of the laptop to expose the internal components, including the disc drive, hard drive and motherboard.

      Turn the laptop over and open the screen. Pull the upper case containing the keyboard and the touch pad away from the body of the laptop carefully.

      Disconnect the cables connecting the touch pad and the keyboard to the motherboard and pull the upper case completely off of the laptop to expose the tops of the internal components.

      Disconnect the screen's video cable from its connection on the motherboard.

      Pull the screen up and away from the body of the laptop to complete the disassemble process.
