How to Kill the Monster Book in "LEGO"
"Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4," released on a variety of consoles in 2010, chronicles the adventures of Harry Potter's first four years at Hogwarts in Lego form. This includes the events of the third book and movie, "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban." In the first level of the third year, titled "News From Azkaban," Harry's Monster Book of Monsters takes on a life of its own in the inn Harry is at. Harry must figure out a way to defeat the Monster Book of Monsters so that he may exit the room and make it back to Hogwarts.

Stand on the bed to avoid the attacks of the Monster Book of Monsters.

Cast Wingardium Leviosa on the painting to the left of the bed.

Attack the painting that's distracting the book. The wizard in the painting throws his hat at the book, causing a long chain of events that results in the book becoming unconscious.

Stand next to the book and press the button above Harry's head to attack the book, removing one of its three hearts shown at the top of the screen. The button you need to press is dependent on your system. However, it's always displayed above Harry's head at the appropriate time.

Stand back on the bed and cast Wingardium Leviosa on the painting to the left of the bed. Attack the painting of the wizard distracting the book above the fireplace; the wizard drops the items necessary to use the fireplace.

Cast Wingardium Leviosa on the items near the fireplace to light the fire; this also sets the book on fire resulting in it becoming stunned. Attack the book again.

Return to the bed and cast Wingardium Leviosa on the painting to the left of the bed once more. Attack the painting that's distracting the book, and a chandelier falls on top of the book.

Attack the book for the third time, resulting in the book losing all of its hearts and returning back to normal, allowing you to proceed with the level.

Tips & Warnings
In Free Play mode, you can be any character you have unlocked in the "Harry Potter" universe. However, only a character that can cast spells can defeat the Monster Book of Monsters.
If you touch the Monster Book of Monsters without distracting it, you lose a heart.
