How to Make a Link Box for Tumblr
The microblogging network Tumblr allows you to format posts according to the content you’re sharing. For instance, if you’re posting an image, the site allows you to choose the “Photo” format to enhance the appearance of the image on your blog. Likewise, you can create a link box for sharing a URL on your blog using the “Link” option. The format of the link box is automatically dictated by the theme you’ve assigned to Tumblr, but it can be edited using Tumblr’s CSS editor if you want to change the appearance of link posts.

Go online to Tumblr.com and sign in to your account by typing your email and password in the text fields and clicking “Sign In.”

Click the name of your Tumblr blog in the top menu of your Tumblr dashboard.

Click “Link” in the menu bar along the top of your feed.

Type the title of your link box post in the “Title” text field, type the URL of the link in “URL” field and click “Create Post.” The link box posts to your Tumblr blog.

To change the appearance of link posts, open the dashboard for your Tumblr blog, click “Customize Appearance,” click “Edit HTML,” scroll down to “.link” and change the CSS attributes according to how you want your link posts to appear.
