How to Install ODIN Android for the Samsung Epic 4G
The ODIN tool allows you to change the Android operating system running on certain Samsung devices, like the Epic 4G phone on Sprint. You can hook your phone up to your computer and use the ODIN tool to wipe all the data on your phone and replace it with a different operating system. If you want to try out a new version of Android or if you need to perform a full factory reset and delete all of the data on your phone, ODIN allows you the access to do so.

1
Plug your Epic 4G into your computer using a micro-USB cable. Ensure that the drivers are installed. If the drivers are working correctly, you should be able to drag down the notification area on your Epic and mount your memory card over USB. If you're having trouble, try using a USB cable that didn't come with your phone.; the Samsung cables are not well shielded and may lose connection.
