How to Make a Podcast for iWeb
Podcasts are video or audio files that are uploaded to the Internet and commonly distributed in episodic formats, but any non-streaming webcast qualifies as a podcast. Apple’s iWeb template-based website creation tool features a user-friendly interface that facilitates the transfer of podcasts to the Web. Another Apple platform, Garageband, allows users to produce and tweak their podcast and complete it in a format that transfers seamlessly to iWeb. Make sure you have your iWeb page complete prior to uploading your podcast.

Download and install Apple Garageband. Garageband is a digital audio studio platform that allows users to download podcasts episodically.

Connect the microphone you will use for your podcast. Open Garageband and click “New Project.” Highlight the podcast icon and click “Choose.”

Title the podcast on the “New Project from Template” dialog box. Select the destination folder for your podcast and click “Create.”

Select the gender of your recording voice and press the red button to commence recording. Press the red button again to stop recording.

Identify your podcast with a title. Enter the title of your podcast in the “Save As” field.

Add background music to your podcast. Click “Loop” and select a category. Background music categories include orchestra, rock, blues, jazz and effects. The “All Effects” category provides more than 200 audio effects that overlay on your podcast track. Test the background music or effect by clicking on its title. After previewing, click and drag the song or effect to the “Jingles” section under the “tracks” heading.

Add graphics to your podcast. Select stock graphics from Garageband, browse and import them from your computer or download them from the Web. When importing from your media browser, click and drag the image’s icon to the “Jingle section.”

Send your podcast to iWeb. Click “Share” and select “Send Podcast to iWeb” from the drop-down menu. You will be presented with a page titled “Choose a template for your webpage.” Select your template and click “Choose." Garageband will send your podcast to your iWeb page.

Click “Publish Site” on the iWeb page you were redirected to.
