A Nook Color is an e-reader, allowing you to load many books and applications on the device.

A kernel is the main component of an operating system or application. The Nook Color e-reader uses an Android operating system. With the Nook color, you can download various applications and search the Internet, along with downloading your favorite books or magazines to read. Your Nook will already have the central operating system kernel loaded onto the device. For any problems with the operating system, take your Nook into the nearest Barnes and Noble for service. However, you can load books and other applications on your Nook color on your own.
