Use the Internet to share your creativity with others.

Years ago, artists like Pablo Picasso and Claude Monet didn't have the Internet to promote their work. The Internet gives today's artists a platform for displaying their work to millions of people around the world. Artist's communities, blogs and forums open up a world of possibilities for creators looking for followers or potential customers. Putting your artwork online doesn't automatically attract an audience, though. Social networking sites and other websites help you promote your work and find buyers.

Instructions

    • 1

Create your own blog and post images of your work on it. Write instructional posts that teach readers how to paint or draw. Blogs from WordPress or Blogger are free, and they let you create an online portfolio for your artwork.

    • 2

Use a search engine to look for artist's forums or websites. Most forums let you put a signature in your posts. Put your blog or website's URL in your signature. Post frequently on the forum to promote your site. This also works if you leave a comment on another artist's blog.

    • 3

Ask other blog or website owners if you can post a link to their site on your own. In return, request that they put a link to your art blog on their site. This arrangement benefits you and others, so people are likely to grant your request.

    • 4

Join a social network, like Facebook or Myspace. Create your profile and give information about your artwork. Social networking sites often have an artist's community. Join it to meet other creators and show them your work.

Tips & Warnings

  • Create your own business cards for your site's URL. Pass the business cards out at museums, schools or bookstores. This helps you get traffic for your site.
