How to Make the Text Blink on iChat
If you’re looking for a way to save money on text messages, Apple's iChat for the Mac operating system may be a solution for you. Using an instant messaging system such as Google Talk, MobileMe, Jabber or AOL Instant Messenger, iChat allows you to chat with one or more friends online. In addition to changing the background and iChat bubble colors, you can add text effects, such as blinking, using the “Effects” button on the program.

Launch iChat and log in to your instant-messaging account. Select a “Buddy” from your list who is available and begin a chat session. Double-click on the Buddy’s name to start the chat.

Type the text that you want to send in the bottom of the window. Highlight the portion of text to which you want to add a blinking effect. Click the “Effects” button, which will open a separate window.

Click the “Blink” effect, which will close the Effects window and return you to the iChat screen. Press the “Enter” key on your keyboard to send the message with the blinking text. To remove the blinking effect, click the “Effects” button and select the “Original” option.
