Learn about the meaning of different stones for a wrapastoni bracelet.

Wrapastoni bracelets -- literally meaning wrapped stones -- are bracelets that combine leather cords with stones that symbolize various elements, such as peace, health, serenity, emotion and imagination. The stones are held in place with wire that frames each individual stone that's added to the bracelet. Wrapastoni bracelets usually contain multiple strands, making them take up a wide amount of space on the wrist. The idea behind each bracelet is that you can wrap the leather and stones around your wrist as many times as the bracelet will fit around.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure 1 foot of 1.75 mm leather cord with sewing tape. Release the leather cord from the spool and lay it flat on a working table. Place the sewing tape next to it to measure the 1-foot distance. This is how long the bracelet will be. Cut the leather cord with scissors at the 1-foot mark.

    • 2

Keep the leather cord flat on the working surface. Place assorted stones randomly over various spots of the cord. Do not place the stones evenly apart. Rather, keep the design random for a more artistic and handmade look. Adjust the stones until you are satisfied with the layout.

    • 3

Cut 4 inches of jewelry wire with wire cutters for every stone that you are using in the wrapastoni bracelet. Each stone has one 4-inch piece of jewelry wire.

    • 4

Thread the jewelry wire through the drilled hole in the middle of the stone. Many jewelry stones come pre-drilled for beading or stringing. Situate the stone so that it is in the center of the jewelry wire.

    • 5

Place the stone with wire over the area of the leather cord where you want it to go. Use needle-nose pliers to begin wrapping one end of the jewelry wire around the leather cord as many times as it will go. Pinch the jewelry wire down to fix it to the cord. Repeat the process for the other end of the same piece of wire. You have now affixed the stone to the leather cord by wrapping the wire around the cord.

    • 6

Continue this process for the rest of the stones on the wrapastoni bracelet. Depending on the size of the stones that you use, you may need to wrap the wire around the leather cord more or fewer times.

    • 7

Make a closure for the wrapastoni bracelet. Fit one end of the bracelet into a coil end by inserting the leather cord into the hole opening of the coil end. Put the needle-nose pliers around the coil end and press them together to squeeze the coil end shut around the leather cord. Repeat for the other end of the leather cord.

    • 8

Connect a clasp to one of the coil ends by looping the clasp through the coil end loop. You now have a clasp that you can unhook by undoing the loops.
