How to Install Wave Patcher

An Xbox 360 game disc holds data divided into a number of partitions.

Xbox 360 game discs contain a partition that holds video data, allowing a small video clip to play if inserted into a DVD player. The video also serves as an anti-piracy measure as the console compares the disc's video to one used with legitimate games to ensure that the disc is not pirated. Additional files will be downloaded for installation, ensuring that the most up-to-date version of the software is installed on your system. Once installation is complete, close the installer and launch Wave Patcher to begin using the software.

Tips & Warnings

• Back up games that you own using ISO creation software to create a disc image that you can modify with Wave Patcher. This allows you to change the wave on the games to an earlier wave to use with your offline console when the games would otherwise not be recognized.

• Wave Patcher should only be used for offline consoles that cannot update their firmware to accommodate newer game waves. If attempting to use Wave Patcher to play pirated games with your Xbox Live profile, the anti-piracy features of Xbox Live will detect the change and ban your Xbox Live account.
