How to Troubleshoot an Olympus IB
Olympus IB is a computer-based software suite that comes with all Olympus cameras. It allows you to conveniently organize your photos by categories such as event or location. This software sometimes causes problems, and at times, these problems are related directly to the type of camera you are using. Regardless, all the issues you encounter can be resolved by making a few minor adjustments -- to the software's settings or the way in which you import photos.

First transfer still images and their corresponding sound files to your computer and then import them to IB if you have one of the following camera models:
SP-600UZ
SP-800UZ
µ-5010
µ-7040
µ-9010
µTOUGH-3000
µTOUGH-6020
µTOUGH-8010This is necessary because these models cannot upload audio image content directly to IB. A medium like your computer operating system is needed.

Manually tag faces if the imaging software fails to detective a person or two. This sometimes occurs if the subject is looking away or his face is partially hidden. Perform this by double-clicking the picture, clicking the "Add Missing Faces" button and moving the yellow frame that appears so it covers the face you want to register. Continue by adjusting the frame's size, clicking "Unknown," typing a name into the dialog box and then selecting the green arrow.

Take advantage of the Transfer Images From Specified Location function to re-import images if, after moving imported images to a new directory, you encounter the "link missing" error message when trying to access them. Perform this by opening the "File" menu, selecting "Transfer Images From Specific Location," navigating to the new directory and clicking "OK."
