How to Reset the Node Count in Drupal

The node counter in Drupal assigns identification numbers to each piece of content. Pieces of content are also known as nodes. You'll want to reset the node counter only if you've deleted all of your site's content and want to start fresh; otherwise, your posts will be deleted when you reset the node index.

Instructions

    • 1

Log into your Web hosting account and access your server's MySQL database.

    • 2

Scroll down and click the Node database table.

    • 3

Check the box next to "NID." Click the Empty tab.

    • 4

Click "OK" when asked if you want to truncate the node table. The node count is now reset.
