How to Make a Remix on iTunes

How to Make a Remix on iTunes thumbnail
ITunes can play music from many sources.

The Apple iTunes application allows you to download music from the iTunes Store, as well as import music from your personal CD collection. However, unlike an audio CD, you can rearrange the music in your iTunes library by creating playlists. A playlist can contain any songs in your iTunes library in any order you choose. If you want to rearrange or remix the order of songs on a CD, import the CD into iTunes and use the application's features and settings to create a new remixed version of the CD.

    • 3

Click "File" from the menu bar, and select "New Playlist" from the drop-down list. A new playlist box opens under "Playlists" in the left column of the window.

    • 4

Enter a name for the new playlist; then click "Music" under "Library" to display all of the songs in your iTunes library. Click on each song from the CD that you want to add and drag it into the new playlist.

    • 5

Click on the name of the new playlist to display the songs; then click on any song and drag it up or down to rearrange it in the list. Keep dragging the songs until the list is arranged to your liking.

    • 6

Click "Edit" from the menu bar; then select "Preferences" to open the Preferences window. Click "Playback"; then click the "Crossfade Songs" check box and move the slider to the left to decrease the time it takes for one song to fade out and another one to fade in. Move the slider to the right to increase the time it takes for fading between songs to complete. Click the "OK" button.

    • 7

Insert a blank recordable audio CD into your computer; then re-open the Preferences window in iTunes. Click "Burning"; then click the "Audio CD" radio button in the Disc Format section and click "OK."

    • 8

Click the new playlist that you created; then click the "Burn Disc" button in the upper right corner of the window. ITunes automatically creates a CD with a remix of the songs from the original CD. A message appears when the process is complete.
