You can write words in different colors on your iPhone.

If you are bored from using the same old black text on a white background when inputting text on your iPhone, you can input your text using different shades. Using different colors can help you emphasize certain points in your text, or add some personality to your words. The iPhone does not have a native ability to change the color of the text that you type, so you’ll need to download a third-party text-shading app from Apple’s App Store.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the “Home” button, located below the iPhone’s display.

    • 2

Tap the “App Store” icon on the home screen.

    • 3

Tap “Search,” then type a search term such as “text input,” then tap “Search” again. Tap the name of an app from the search results list, such as “ColorMail,” “Color Messaging” or “Font Dresser Free.” Tap the word “Free” or the price listed next to the name of the app, then tap “Install” and enter your Apple ID when prompted. The text-shading app downloads and installs to your iPhone.

    • 4

Tap the icon of the text-shading app to launch it.

    • 5

Tap a color from the color palette to select what shade you want to apply to your text. Type your text. The words will appear in the color you designated.
