How to Put Flashes in OneNote
In OneNote 2010 and 2007, users can create individual flashcards, or flashes, and flashcard-style study lists using note boxes on a blank page. With these study options, the study subject in the form of a word, number, equation, question or image remains viewable at all times and the answer remains hidden until you want to see it. Whichever study style you choose, you can make flashes quickly in OneNote to use on your own or share with others.
Instructions

Flashcards
-
1
Open a blank page in OneNote and then click any spot on the page to create a note box.
-
2
Type or insert a study subject on the first line of the box and then press the “Enter” key on your keyboard. Type or insert the answer on the second line.
-
-
3
Place your cursor at the beginning of the answer and then press the “Increase Indent Position” button -- marked with lines and an arrow pointing right -- to move the answer slightly right. If you’re using OneNote 2010, click the “Home” tab and then click the button in the Basic Text section. If you’re using OneNote 2007, click the button on the Formatting toolbar.
-
4
Position your cursor over the subject on the first line. A small box icon with four directional arrows inside of it appears outside of the note box on the left. Move the cursor above this icon and the cursor changes into a large four directional arrows icon.
-
5
Double-click this area. The answer will disappear and the small box icon outside of the note box will change into two overlapping boxes with four directional arrows inside the top box.
-
6
Click under the note box to create a new note box. Create a new flashcard the same way you created the first flashcard.
-
7
Repeat the entire process to create additional flashcards and then study the flashcards. For example, if you’re studying vocabulary, look at the word and guess its definition. To confirm you’re right, double-click the overlapping boxes icon to the left of the study subject to make the answer reappear on the second line.
