You can find gas fireplaces inside and outside of the home. Most gas fireplaces have a draft spill switch that will shut the gas off to the fireplace if it senses a gas leak. When the switch is triggered, it will not allow the pilot light to stay lit in order to prevent a fire hazard. You will have to reset the switch in order to light your gas fireplace.       Locate the draft spill switch on the draft hood of your gas fireplace.

      Examine the draft spill switch and inspect if the top is open or not. If the top is open, push it closed.

      Locate the manual “Reset” button on the side of the draft spill switch.

      Push the “Reset” button once. The reset button will stick in once you have pushed it. If the button has popped out, it will need to be reset again.
