How to Install a Grass Samurai
Traditionally, weed trimmers have used plastic wire as their actual cutting mechanisms. The wire is usually wound on a spindle and fed out from the spindle as needed for grass trimming. As an alternative to this tradition, manufacturers such as Grass Samurai offer spindles that hold precut lengths of plastic wire that are simply taken out of the spindle by hand and replaced with another. Install the large washer provided with your Grass Samurai between the Grass Samurai and the trimmer shaft. These steps assume that the original spindle has already been removed from your trimmer, so remove it prior to inserting the washer if it has not.

Secure the washer with the triangular collet, nut and bolt that was provided with your Grass Samurai. For universality, Grass Samurai provides several sizes of collets and nut and bolt assemblies; be sure to choose the ones that fit your trimmer shaft.

Insert the 5-inch plastic wire pieces provided with your Grass Samurai into each of the three openings in your Grass Samurai. Push the plastic wire into the Grass Samurai until you see the end of the plastic wire come through the inside of the Grass Samurai.
