How to Transfer Songs on Your MP3 From Your Micro SD Card to Your LG 260 Into Ringtones

Use MP3s as ringtones on your LG260.

To successfully transfer MP3s as ringtones to your LG260, you’ll need a PC and the USB cable included with your phone. You’ll be transferring the MP3 files from your PC to your LG260 via USB, and you’ll have to set things up so you can send the files to the correct directory on your microSD card. If you don’t select the correct directory, your LG260 will either recognize the MP3s as music files or won’t recognize them at all. Choosing the right directory will ensure your phone recognizes the MP3 files as ringtones.

Instructions

1. Insert your microSD card into your LG260.

2. Format the microSD card by selecting “Menu,” then “Settings.” Select “Memory,” then “Card Memory.” Select “Format,” then “OK.”

3. Set the connection mode by selecting “Menu,” then “Settings.” Select “USB Settings,” then “USB Mass Storage.”

4. Connect your LG260 to your PC. After a moment, a window will alert you that a new Removable Disk has been found on your computer. Windows will install the appropriate drivers.

5. Open the folder for the new Removable Disk after the driver installation completes. Drag the MP3s you want to use as ringtones into the “My_Audios” folder.

6. Disconnect the phone from your PC once the transfer is complete. You can now assign the transferred MP3s as ringtones.

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure the LG260 USB Modem Driver is installed on your PC before connecting your LG260.

• For the best results, choose MP3s that are 30 seconds or less in length and have a data rate of 96 kbps. This combination keeps the file size to a minimum and results in faster performance.
