How to Refresh the Folder List in an IMAP Server

Windows Mail is a free email application that is included in Windows Vista, the operating system developed by Microsoft Corporation. It allows users to check their email stored on traditional servers as well as connect to third-party webmail services. When attempting to retrieve mail from webmail services, Windows Mail sometimes displays an error message warning the user that he should refresh the folder list to synchronize with the IMAP server. You can fix that issue and retrieve your webmail messages by disabling a specific option.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch Windows Mail by clicking on the "Windows Mail" shortcut in the Start menu.

    • 2

Right-click on the folder named after your webmail service in the left-hand pane.

    • 3

Click on "Synchronization Settings" and select "Don't synchronize."
