How to Install Emulators on the Wiz Handheld

The GP2X Wiz by GamePark Holdings allows users to emulate several types of console and arcade games. The handheld system does not come preloaded with any of the emulators. You need to download and install the emulators to the system to use them. Emulators are placed on an SD card that you install in the Wiz. Once downloaded to the SD card, the system can detect and install the emulators.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the OpenHandhelds website on your computer, download the emulator that you want to install on the Wiz and unzip the file that is downloaded.

    • 2

Install a SD card in the slot on the bottom of the Wiz.

    • 3

Plug the small end of the USB cord supplied with the Wiz into the USB port on the device, and plug the other end into your computer. A window appears on your computer screen that reads "Removable Disk."

    • 4

Select "Open Folder to View Files Using Windows Explorer." A new window labeled "Removable Disk" appears. A group of folders is in the window.

    • 5

Right-click the emulator file and select "Copy."

    • 6

Right-click the "Removable Disk" folder and select "Paste." The emulator is copied to the SD card on your Wiz.

    • 7

Click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon at the lower right corner of the screen and select your device.

    • 8

Unplug the Wiz from your computer when the "Safe to Remove Hardware" message appears on the screen.

    • 9

Turn on the Wiz, select "Launcher" and then "Applications." A list of files on the SD card appears.

    • 10

Select the emulator's GPE file to start the emulator on your Wiz. It appears as "x.gpe," with the name of the emulator replacing the "x."
