Attract patrons to your tent with a flashy banner.

At a craft show or antiques display, merchants unfurl their wares to attract seasoned collectors as well as first-time buyers. Most of these events are held outdoors, requiring a large tent to protect the merchandise as well as the merchants from the hot sun or a chance rain shower. It's easy to become lost amongst the white peaks of countless tents, so mounting an eye-catching banner to the top of yours is a great way to attract potential buyers.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the metal grommets in the corners of your banner. These allow for mounting of the banner while protecting the holes from fraying or tearing once atop the tent.

    • 2

Insert a length of nylon rope through a top-corner grommet. Have an assistant hold the banner upright as you tie the rope to the top frame of your tent. Double-knot the rope around the frame for security. Trim the rest of the nylon rope away from the knot.

    • 3

Pull the banner taught across the front width of the tent. Tie the other corner grommet to the opposite end of the frame using the method described in Step 2. Trim the nylon rope.

    • 4

Secure the bottom-corner grommets using the same method. Before securing all of the knots with a final tug, ensure that the banner is straight and stretched taught across the top of the tent.

Tips & Warnings

  • Ensure that the banner is positioned above head height so that your buyers do not accidentally run into it.

  • Some banners arrive with mounting hardware, such as clips or rope. Check to see if your banner contains any of this hardware before purchasing new mounting supplies.

  • Avoid hanging your banner in very windy weather, as this usually results in crooked placement.
