How to Cause an Engine Failure in "Flight Simulator X"
"Microsoft Flight Simulator X (FSX)" is a flight simulator that allows you to detail all the events of your flight, including setting up a pre-planned engine failure. In Free Flight mode, any aircraft can be rigged to have an engine failure at a certain point during the flight. Engine outs are good practice for the game's official missions and give you an opportunity to practice landing safely without an engine in various conditions.

Click "Free Flight" from the FSX main menu. Select the aircraft you want to use from the Aircraft drop-down menu.

Click the "Failures" tab. Click "Engine."
