Netflix video streaming is completely separate from Netflix "DVD by-mail" service.

The Netflix video streaming service streams video to your computer or streaming device via a highspeed Internet connection. If your streaming service is experiencing some sort of feedback that is affecting the video's quality, it may be because Netflix is using more data than your Internet service can handle. In order to remedy this, you must change the the video quality settings on the Netflix website. If, once the settings have been optimized to fit your Internet connection, the feedback you are experiencing continues, you must report the problem to Netflix.

  1. Changing Video Quality Settings

      Open a Web browser and navigate to Netflix.com. Type your login credentials in the spaces provided and click the "Continue" button to sign into your account.

      Click the "Your Account & Help" link in the upper-right corner of your Netflix home page.

      Click the "Manage Video Quality" link beneath the "Watching Instantly on your TV or Computer" heading.

      Select your Netflix video quality option on the "Manage Video Quality" page. Your options are "Good Quality," which uses up to 0.3 GB per hour, "Better Quality," which uses up to 0.7 GB per hour and "Best Quality," which uses up to 1.0 GB per hour. Click the "Save" button to save the changes.

      Open a Web browser and navigate to Netflix.com. Type your login credentials in the spaces provided and click the "Continue" button to sign into your account.

      Click the "Your Account & Help" link in the upper-right corner of your Netflix home page.

      Click the "Problems Watching Instantly" link beneath the "Watching Instantly on your TV or Computer" heading, select the "Problem Starting or Playing a Title" option and click the "Next" button.

      Select whether or not the movie started playing on the following screen and click the "Next" button.

      Select the title that you are experiencing issues with on the following screen and click the "Done" button to submit the report. Once the report has been submitted, Netflix will address any issues that may be causing the feedback.
