Swype is a system utilized by a number of smartphones including the T-Mobile G2. Even though the T-Mobile G2 has a QWERTY keyboard under a slider panel, Swype offers an on-screen feature to input characters. The system processes the data from the touchscreen keyboard at a faster rate than other options, according to the Swype Company website. An on-screen Swype keyboard is an automatic feature of the T-Mobile G2 and saves you from having to open your slider every time you want to type.
Press the power button at the top of the screen to wake up your phone. Drag the "Lock" icon across the scree to access your desktop.
Tap the "Settings" icon on the home screen. Select the "Swype" settings option from the menu by tapping on it then scroll through the settings to make any necessary changes such as sensitivity.
Open an application that requires you to type. For example, begin a new text message. Tap on the text content box. This action toggles on the Swype keyboard if you do not have the QWERTY keyboard open.
