How to Adjust Title Text on Blogspot

Blogspot blogs are an easy way to get into blogging: You do not need to worry about hosting, the service offers several customizable templates and the software is easy to use. But what happens when you want to tweak your blog's look? What if you no longer like how your title appears? Fortunately, you can use Blogspot's built in HTML editor and layout tools to make any number of changes to your blog's appearance.

      Log into your blogspot blog Dashboard.

      Click the "Settings" link under your blog to open the Basic Settings page.

      Click the "Design" tab to open the Edit Layout page.

      Click "Edit" next to the Header section of your blog's layout to open the Configure Header window.

      Make any changes to the title itself in the "Blog Title" field. you can add images to the header in the "Image" section of the window. Click "Save" when finished.

      Click "Edit HTML" to open the HTML editor page. Do this if you want to change the appearance of the title text.

      Click the "Download Full Template" link to download a copy of your blog's template for safe keeping. If you make a mistake, you can undo it by uploading the saved copy of the template.

      Locate the "pagetitle" tags in the code. These tags list the color and style of the title text. You can replace the color value with a different one. (See Resources for a list), or you can change the font style in the appropriate section.

      Click "Save Template" when finished.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be very careful when you change the HTML code on your page. You can cause your page to no longer display properly if you change the wrong line of code, and it could take a while to undo.
