How to Be Invisible to Colleagues on LinkedIn
LinkedIn lets you connect to other LinkedIn users based on your real-world connections as well as common industries and activities. All of your LinkedIn activity is broadcast to your colleagues by default, and your colleagues are able to see when you have viewed their profiles. Also, your colleagues are visible to one another, which may or may not be to your liking. You can turn all of these features off, effectively making your LinkedIn habits invisible to your colleagues.

1
Sign in to your LinkedIn account, move your mouse over your username in the upper right corner of the screen and click "Settings" in the drop-down menu that appears. This displays all of your profile settings, including your privacy options.
-
2
Click "Turn On/Off Your Activity Broadcasts" under the "Privacy Controls" heading of your profile settings. Click to deselect the check box that appears and click "Save Changes." This makes your LinkedIn activity invisible to your colleagues.

-
3
Click "Select Who Can See Your Activity Feed" in your profile settings. Click the drop-down box that appears and select "Only You," then click "Save Changes." Now, even if your activity feed is turned on, your colleagues will not see your LinkedIn activities.
-
4
Click "Select What Others See When You've Viewed Their Profile" in your profile settings. Click "You Will Be Totally Anonymous," then click "Save Changes." Now when you visit anyone's LinkedIn profile, no one will know it.
-
5
Click "Select Who Can See Your Connections" in your profile settings. Click the drop-down box and select "Only You." This hides your colleagues from each other on LinkedIn, but shared colleagues will always be shown regardless of this setting.
