How to Import a JPEG Into an M-JPEG
Importing a JPEG still-image file into your existing M-JPEG video file requires the use of video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 or Final Cut Pro X. These software packages are different from basic video viewing software because they allow you to create a timeline with your video. Move video segments around within the timeline or add still images. Lay audio, such as a song, behind the video to tie it all together.
Instructions

1
Open your M-JPEG video timeline in your video editing software.
-
2
Import your JPEG still image. In most programs, right-click on the screen and choose "Import" or go to the "File" menu and select "Import." Navigate to your image and click "OK." The image should appear in your program's project panel along with all video and audio files already imported into your video project.
-
-
3
Click on the JPEG in the project panel and drag it to your video timeline on a separate line from your M-JPEG video.
-
4
Trim your M-JPEG video where you want to place the still image. Most video editors have a "Trim" tool. This allows you to cut the video at your chosen spot and move the second section back several seconds to start after your still image.
-
5
Move your JPEG file on its video line along the timeline so that it overlaps the gap you created in your M-JPEG file with your Trim tool. Adjust the timeline as necessary to show the JPEG image for as many seconds as you prefer before the video returns to the M-JPEG image.
