How to Convert an XML Blog File to Readable for Blogger

An XML blog file contains the dates, comments, titles, links and content of exported blog posts. XML is a universal language that is platform-dependent, so you can use it to export posts from your other blogs, including those published with the free weblog publishing tool Blogger. Use the import process Blogger provides to convert the blog posts to a readable format that shows up when readers access the blog URL.

Instructions

    • 1

Open a Web browser and log in to your Blogger's dashboard. Click the "Advanced" link in the main menu bar and click "Import Tool" to open the wizard.

    • 2

Check the box labeled "Automatically publish all imported posts." This option posts the imported XML data to your blog, so readers can view the blog posts automatically after the import process completes.

    • 3

Click "Import Blog." In the opened window, select your XML file and click "OK." The import process only takes a few minutes to complete.

    • 4

Close the blog dashboard and open your Blogger domain in the browser to review the new blog posts and the posts' content.
