How to Check PSI Level on a Peerless Gas Boiler by Honeywell
Peerless oil and gas-fired boilers are used to heat water for home use. While not made by Honeywell, they may have Honeywell parts, such as thermostats. Safe boiler operation depends on the unit operating at the correct pressure and temperature. Checking the pressure gauge on the unit is simple if you know where to look. If the pressure reads higher than the suggested limit, check the manual for your model on how best to proceed, or call a certified technician to fix the problem. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
-
-
1
Open or remove the cabinet cover, depending on your boiler model. This may require a screwdriver.
-
2
Locate the gauge. In most models, it is inside the cabinet on top of the water tank. The pressure gauge resembles the face of an analog watch, complete with dial and a hand. The numbers will be different, ranging from zero to 75 psi or higher, again depending on the individual boiler.
-
-
3
Read the gauge by identifying the number indicated by the needle, or hand. This is your pressure reading.
-
4
Compare the gauge reading with the recommended pressure for your boiler. If it is not operating at the recommended pressure, consult with a certified technician.

Tips & Warnings
Many Peerless boilers have a safety feature that causes them to shut down if the psi or temperature rise above a certain level. This reduces the likelihood of explosions and make the boilers safer to operate.
Unless you are a master plumber, never attempt repair work on a boiler yourself, as severe personal injury could result.
