How to Create Your Own 3D Box Cover Art for a Media Browser

Software that you can use to create a 3-D box cover to use with a Media Browser includes "3D Box Shot Maker" and "Quick BoxMaker". Both of these programs are free for you to use to create a 3-D image for your box cover. The software will allow you to create a box cover by using your own images, such as a logo or other promotional materials that are available for your business venture. You can also create a 3-D box cover online.

Instructions

  1. 3D Box Shot

    • 1

      Double-click the “3D Box Shot” icon to open the program. Click "Project" and select “New” to begin a new project.

      Click the left “Set” button under Set Images. Navigate to an image file on your system that you want as the side of your 3-D box cover.

      Click the right “Set” button under Set Images. Navigate to the image file you want to use as the front of your 3-D box cover.

      Adjust the “Total Height” slider in the Box Height section to adjust the height for the box cover. Set the “Left Width” and “Right Width” to obtain a proportional size for the box cover.

      Put a check in the box for “Use Shadow.” Move the slider for Length, Angle, and Intensity to set the appearance of the box cover. Put a check in the box for “Use Reflection.” Move the slider to adjust the Length and Intensity.

      Click the “OK” button when you are satisfied with the box cover image. Click the “Save” button under Project. Save your project as a JPEG, GIF or PNG image file.

    Quick BoxMaker

      Double-click the “Quickbox” icon to open the program. Double-click on the picture for “Front Image.” Navigate to the image that you want to use for the front of your box cover. Click the “Open” button to import the picture into the program.

      Double-click on the picture for Top Image. Locate the image that you want to use for the top of your box cover and click the “Open” button.

      Double-click on the picture for Spine Image. Locate the image that you want to use as the spine for your box cover.

      Adjust the size of your image by using the selection boxes for the Width, Height and Depth. You can make the image bigger by increasing the numbers or smaller by decreasing the numbers.

      Click the icon of the disk in the upper left of the program. Select a folder on your system and type a name for the file. Click the “Save” button to save your project.

      Go to the 3D package web site. Click the link on the page for "3d-box."

      Click the "Browse" button to the right of the "Choose your cover" text box. Navigate to the location of the image to use for the cover of your box cover. Click the "Open" button to upload the image.

      Click the "Browse" button to the right of the "Choose your backside" text box. Locate the image that you want to use for the backside of your box cover.

      Click the "Browse" button to the right of the "Choose a side" text box. Locate the image that you want to use for the backside of your box cover.

      Click the "Browse" button to the right of the "Choose a top" text box. Locate the image that you want to use for the top of your box cover.

      Click the "Create 3d-box" button to process your image files and display an image of your box cover.
