Instructions

  1. Ribbon Braids

    • 1

Brush your hair out to remove any tangles. Use a rattail comb to create a center part.

    • 2

Pull one section of hair aside from your part to about an inch above your ear on each side of your head. Tie these sections into ponytails using elastic bands.

    • 3

Place your Greek gold ribbon at the top of your hair and center it so that there's an even amount of ribbon on each side. Tie the ribbon to the left and right ponytails and let the rest of the length hang down on either side of your head.

    • 4

Divide the right ponytail into two sections. The ribbon will act as the third section. Braid the hair by weaving the far right section under the center section and then over the far left section and repeating.

    • 5

Tie the end of the braid with an elastic band. Cut off any excess ribbon.

    • 6

Repeat Steps 4 and 5 for the left side of the hair. When you are finished you will have two Greek gold ribbon braids.

    Gold Ribbon Braided Updo

    • 7

Brush out your hair to remove all tangles. Pull aside three or four sections of hair around your face. Tie these sections into loose ponytails with elastic bands.

    • 8

Tie the rest of your hair back into a high ponytail. Loop the ends of the tied-up hair around the base of the ponytail and secure them with bobby pins to create a ballerina-style bun.

    • 9

Tie a Greek gold ribbon to one of the small ponytails. Divide the hair of this section into two sections and braid the hair using the gold ribbon as the third section. Tie the end of this braid with an elastic band and cut off any excess ribbon with scissors.

    • 10

Untie the other sections and braid them normally. Tie the ends of these braids with elastic bands.

    • 11

Pull the braids back and loop any excess braid length around the ballerina bun. Secure with bobby pins.

    Classic Bow

    • 12

Brush out your hair to remove all tangles and knots. Part your hair horizontally across the center using a comb.

    • 13

Pin back the back of your hair on each side of your head with bobby pins. Pull the ends back into a loose bun with an elastic band for now.

    • 14

Pull the Greek gold ribbon around your head from the base of your head to the top center of your part. Make sure there is an even amount of ribbon on both ends.

    • 15

Tie a bow at the top center part by shaping two even loops at each end of the ribbon, crossing the right loop over the left loop and knotting the loops by pulling the right loop behind and under the left loop and through the hole created.

    • 16

Adjust the bow, leaving it at the center of your head or pulling it to the side of your head.

    • 17

Take the pins out and untie the back of your hair. Brush it out smooth.
