How to Do Entity Gel No-Chip Manicures

An Entity no-chip manicure generally lasts longer than a manicure with regular nail polish.

Entity One Color Couture is a type of nail polish advertised to not chip or smudge. The nail polish combines a high-gloss gel with enamel so your manicure color dries quickly and lasts a long time. Some salons and spas offer an Entity manicure that costs more than a regular manicure because of the higher quality of the polish. Heat adheres the gel polish to your nails quickly so you do not have to wait for your nails to air-dry. Because of the formula, giving an Entity manicure is slightly different than a standard manicure.

Things You'll Need

• Pusher
• Detailer
• Refiner
• Nippers
• Entity Nu Bond Non-Acid Nail Primer
• Entity One Color Couture Soak Off Gel Enamel
• Entity One Color Couture Soak Off Top Coat
• Entity Natural Nail Prep
• Brush wipe
• 36-watt UV tunnel lamp

Instructions

1. Loosen the cuticle by sliding the pusher down toward the nail plate. Cut away the cuticle with the nippers. Use a detailer or retainer to gently file the nail plate and then use one of these tools to file the nail into the desired shape. Scrub the nails with a Natural Nail Prep and a Brush Wipe to clean them and prep the nails for the Entity polish.

2. Apply a thin coat of Entity Nu Bond Non-Acid Nail Primer to each nail, but not the skin around the nail. Put the primer on one hand at a time.

3. Apply a thin layer of Entity One Color Couture Soak Off Base Coat to each nail on the left hand. Start from the center and brush outward to cover the entire surface. Hold the brush parallel to your nail as you apply the base coat.

4. Place the nails of the left hand under a 36-watt UV tunnel lamp for 60 seconds. Apply the base coat to the right hand and place it under the lamp.

5. Apply a thin layer of the desired color of the Entity One Color Couture Soak Off Gel Enamel to the nails of your left hand, starting at the center just like you did for the base coat.

6. Place your left hand under the UV lamp for two minutes. Apply a second layer of the gel to your nails and then cure under the UV lamp for two to three minutes. Repeat the process on your right hand.

7. Apply a thin layer of Entity One Color Couture Soak Off Top Coat to the nails of your left hand using the same technique you used for the base coat and enamel. Place the left hand under the UV tunnel lamp for three minutes. Use the Natural Nail Prep and Brush Wipe to take off the sticky layer of enamel. Repeat on the right hand.

8. Massage cuticle oil into each nail and the skin around the nail.
