How to Become a Project Management Intern for a Video Game Developer
A project management intern for a video game developer company likely needs a bachelor's or master’s degree. An internship at the management level may require previous experience in management as well as extensive knowledge and experience in video game development. The key to landing the internship you want, which may be highly competitive, is to build your resume to reflect your talents and skills and prepare well for the interview.

1
Obtain your degree in a related field to video game development and project management. Appropriate bachelor degrees may be computer engineering or programming and digital art. You may want to consider obtaining a master’s degree in business or public administration to obtain skills in management, as well.

2
Talk to your school counselor about available internship opportunities in your area that will help you prepare to land a project management internship for a video game developer. There may be an internship opportunity to help you obtain additional skills and experience needed to apply for the management internship. If possible, find an internship opportunity at the company to which you want to apply for the project management internship.

3
Research the video game development company. Make sure that the interests of the company match your professional interests. Look at the vision and mission of the company, if there is one, so you can later highlight this in your resume, cover letter and interview. You want to show the company that you are the perfect fit for the internship.

4
Prepare your resume to reflect your skills and abilities accurately. If you currently are in school, a staff counselor or education center may be able to help you do this. The cover letter should sum up and fill in the gaps of your resume. It is important that both documents are free of grammatical errors and formatted so they are easily read.
-
5
Dress professionally for the interview. First impressions matter. Even though this is only an internship, prepare the same way you would for a job interview. If you have sample articles, artwork or programs you have written, be prepared to bring a few copies with you. Also bring additional copies of your resumes. Highlight your positive attributes and minimize negatives.
