How to Defeat a Fable Deck in "Yu-Gi-Oh!"
Yu-Gi-Oh, a playing card game by the Japanese video game company Konami, allows players to create personalized decks. Many players create their decks around certain themes. The Fable deck is one such deck; it contains many monsters of the “fabled” type. Such a deck focuses on discarding fabled monsters directly to the graveyard -- a rare move, since this means you lose the monster. However, there is an advantage in this. Fabled monsters activate devastating effects upon being discarded. Many Yu-Gi-Oh players find it hard to compete against a Fable deck. However, you may employ a number of strategies in the deck-building process to counter the abilities of a Fable deck.

1
Use Banisher of the Radiance or Dimension of Fissure. Put one of these cards in your deck and play it as soon as possible. This type of card nullifies a Fable deck because it makes the opponent banish any card that is to be put in the graveyard. The discarding effects of a Fable deck become useless.

2
Add the monster Koa'ki Meiru Doom or Koa'ki Meiru Powerhand to your deck. Play one of these monsters when dueling a Fable deck to stop your opponent’s Fabled monsters. These cards work by nullifying the effects of all Light-type monsters. Note that all Fabled monsters are Light-type monsters.

3
Use D.D. Crow. Put this monster in your deck and be prepared to discard it when your opponent discards a Fabled monster card. As your opponent places the Fabled monster card in his graveyard, discard D.D. Crow. Your opponent must banish her Fabled card from the game.

4
Add Maxx "C." Keep Maxx "C" in your hand until you believe your opponent is going to play numerous Fabled monsters. At the beginning of your opponent’s turn, discard Maxx "C." The effect in place allows you to draw a card every time your opponent discards a Fabled monster card. Thus, your opponent is unlikely to play Fabled monster cards on that turn, effectively buying you time to play other strategies.
