How to Improve the Pandigital Novel

The Pandigital Novel eReader allows you to purchase and read more than 2 million eBooks from the Barnes & Noble bookstore. You can also use your device to listen to music, watch videos and connect to the Internet, from any location that has Wi-Fi access. The Pandigital Novel is available in three different models. Depending upon the model you are using, there are several things you can do to improve your experience with the eReader.

Instructions

    • 1

Upload books from an external SD card onto your Pandigital Novel. To do this, insert your SD card into the card slot, located on the side of your reader. Tap “My Library” from the home screen. Your media will automatically import from the card to your device's internal memory.

    • 2

Update your firmware to gain access to “Android Market.” Android Market allows you to install thousands of free and paid software applications onto your eReader. The link to update your firmware is included in the “Downloads” section of the Pandigital website. Android Market can not be added to Pandigital Novel 6 or Pandigital Novel 9.

    • 3

Install a “Text-To-Speech Engine” onto your Pandigital Novel. A text-to-speech engine plays the text of your eBooks as audio. A text-to-speech engine can only be added from the Android Market. A few of the Android Market text-to-speech applications include SVOX, eSpeak, iVona and Text To Speech.

    • 4

Add a protective case to your Pandigital Novel. The protective case won't improve functionality, only durability. There are different types of cases, including gel cases and portfolio cases. Cases are available via the Pandigital website or through a Pandigital authorized retailer.

Improve the response of your touch screen, if you notice a lag in response time. To do this, tap “Settings” from your device's home screen. Touch “Calibrate” to calibrate your device.
