How to Hotwire an iPod to a Car Stereo

You can hotwire or connect your iPod to your car stereo using a 3.5 millimeter stereo connector cable and the auxiliary jack on your car stereo. By connecting your iPod to your car stereo, you can listen to audio from your IPod on your car stereo's speakers. Although Apple manufacturers a variety of iPod models, all iPods feature the ability to connect to a car stereo.

Things You'll Need

• 3.5 millimeter stereo connector cable

Instructions

1. Connect one end of the 3.5 millimeter stereo connector cable to the headphone jack on your iPod.

2. Connect the other end of the 3.5 millimeter stereo connector cable to the Aux or Auxiliaryv connection on the front of your car stereo.

3. Press the "Input" button on the front of your car stereo and select the "Aux" or "Auxiliary" option.

4. Press play on your iPod to begin audio playback through your car stereo.

5. Adjust the volume on your car stereo to the desired listening level.
