How to Combine or Merge Bookmarks
Combining or merging booksmarks is possible with a browser add-on. Certain add-ons or downloaded software accommodate different browsers and platforms. For example, the Xmarks website provides a download for Firefox, Internet Explorer, Mac OS X and Chrome. Xmarks stores your favorite bookmarks to an online account that you can access with any computer.

Downloading the Software for the First Browser

Launch your Web browser, such as Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer or Chrome.

Navigate to the Xmarks website, xmarks.com. Download and install the “Free Bookmark Sync” program.

Restart the Web browser. A “Log in to Xmarks” dialogue appears with directions to create your new account.

Complete the account details. The “Xmarks Setup Wizard” dialogue window appears with options, such as “Sync Browser History.” Select the preferred options.

Click “Next” on the “Xmarks Setup Wizard” to cycle through the options. When the “Ready to Synchronize” option appears, click “Next.”

Click “Finish.”
Synching with Other Browsers

Open the Xmarks website, xmarks.com. Download and install the “Free Bookmark Sync” program for your Web browser.

Follow the prompts for the "Xmarks" Setup" dialogue window.

Click the radio button for “Yes: Log me in.” Click “Next.”

Log in to your Xmarks account. The “Ready to Synchronize” dialogue window appears.

Viewing the Bookmarks

Customize the synchronization settings. Access your Xmarks online account by opening the xmarks.com website and clicking “My Bookmarks.” Sign in with your account username and password.
