How to Create a CNAME Record for Job-A-Matic

Job-a-matic, a subsidiary of Simply Hired, enables you to add targeted job listings to your website to monetize your viewerbase. Of course, creating an account on Job-a-matic does make much sense if you can't connect the account to your domain. Canonical names are there to fill the gap; a CNAME record will link your website to your Job-a-matic account while still allowing you to use your own domain or subdomain as the Web address.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to example.com/cpanel -- "example.com" representing the name of your domain -- and enter your login credentials.

    • 2

Scroll to Domains, then click "Advanced DNS Zone Editor." Click "Edit" to redirect an existing domain or subdomain; otherwise, enter the name for a new subdomain into the Name field under Add a Record.

    • 3

Select "CNAME" from the drop-down menu, then enter "14400" into the TTL field.

    • 4

Enter example.jobamatic.com into the Address field, with "example" representing the name of your Job-a-matic website. Click "Add Record" or "Edit Record" to create a CNAME record for Job-a-matic.

    • 5

Go to Job-a-matic and log into your account. Click "Configuration," then scroll to Name & Pricing.

    • 6

Enter your domain or subdomain into the Domain Name field. Click "Save Changes."
