How to Close Export Library Possibility in Allegro PCB Editor
Allegro PCB Editor is a computer tool, which allows advanced electrical mapping and floorplanning. Engineers can plan out the electrical layout of a real or virtual space, and export a given file’s data libraries to share with others. If you want to share the file but not reveal the libraries controlling it, you can close the export library possibility. The way to do so is by sharing it not as a default, all-purpose computer-aided design file, but as a limited-option DRA, or OrCAD Drawing file. A DRA compresses the information, sharing the end result without letting others see or export the libraries underneath.
Instructions
-
-
1
Open the file in Allegro PCB. At this point, it is still fully functional, library export included.
-
2
Select “Export” from the File menu.
-
-
3
Click “OrCAD Drawing File (*.dra).”
-
4
Click “Save.”
-
5
Share the DRA file, not the original CAD you started with. This gives others the ability to access and edit the data, but doesn't allow them to export any libraries.
