How to Get ooVoo With a Camera

ooVoo is available on Windows and Mac computers.

The ooVoo Internet phone application lets you place calls to other ooVoo users over a high-speed Internet connection. The application is designed to let users video-chat with each other, but it can also be used without a webcam. In order to get the full ooVoo experience, however, you must configure the application to be used with a camera through the "Camera" menu.

Instructions

1. Open a Web browser and navigate to oovoo.com. Click the "Get OoVoo" link, followed by the "Download Now" button that corresponds to your operating system. Once the install file is finished downloading, double-click the install file and follow the onscreen instructions to install the application.

2. Double-click the "OoVoo" application icon to launch the application. Click the "Get a new ooVoo account" link, enter the required information in the spaces provided and click the "I accept - Create account" button.

3. Enter your ooVoo account login credentials in the spaces provided and click the "Sign In" button to sign in to your account.

4. Connect the webcam to the computer via the USB connection cable that came with the device. Click the "File" menu and select the "Settings" option.

5. Click the "Camera" option in the "Settings" menu. Click the arrow beneath the "Select a camera:" heading and select the webcam you connected in Step 4 from the drop-down menu.

6. Click the "Test" button to test the webcam. Click the "Save" button after the test to save the settings. Now, whenever you place a call with ooVoo, it will use the computer's webcam.
