How to Combine a Blog and a Photoblog
Having both a blog and a photoblog to maintain basically doubles your workload. If you're constantly updating both, it might save time to combine the two into one blog that you can update periodically instead. The trick to combining both is finding the right blogging platform for the content you post and then transferring older posts to the new platform so you don't miss a beat. Then, update your blog regularly with photos and written entries.

1
Browse through several blogging platforms and select the one that best works for your purposes. If you prefer to upload pictures with little text, a blogging platform like Tumblr might be your best fit. If you want to add pictures to text blogs, something simple like Blogger might work better for your purposes. Most blogging platforms allow you to utilize photos and text, so it's only a matter of selecting the one you're most comfortable with.

2
Back up your posts from either your photo or your text blog. In general, it's easiest to move the type of media that you have the littlest of, since backing up hundreds of pictures from your photoblog might be excessive if you only have a few text blog entries. You can save time by setting up your combined blog on the platform that you already use for either of your blogs.

Post the saved pictures or text to your combined blog. By adjusting the post date and time on the blog post editor, you can even structure your past posts in the same order they appeared on your old blogs. It's up to you to decide how many posts you'd like to add. If you want to save time and start a brand new blog, you can link to your old blogs on your new site.

4
Start posting new pictures and musings with the blogging platform you've chosen. When combining text with pictures, strive for a balance of both types of medium. High-quality photos can be combined with your latest travels and events or information about the picture and how it was taken. You don't need to post both pictures and text for every posting. Just include a good mixture of both for the most engaging blog.

Update your blog regularly to maintain interest and ensure that it captures your life in both pictures and words. Provide engaging copy and bright photographs that follow your interests and the overall theme of your blog.

Tips & Warnings
If the blogging platform you use distorts the quality of your photos, use a third-party photo service, such as Photobucket, to manipulate photos on your blog.
