How to Create a Yahoo Enviroment

Yahoo Messenger's "IMVironments" allow you to change the look and feel of your Yahoo Messenger conversation window. When you choose an IMVironment, you create a new conversation window that will have a different background (and sometimes music) related to that IMVironment. Unfortunately, only Yahoo and its partners can design new IMVironments, so you'll have to choose from the generic selections rather than designing your own custom IMVironment.

Instructions

1. Navigate to Messenger.Yahoo.com in your Web browser and download Yahoo Messenger 11.

2. Sign in to your Yahoo Messenger account by entering your email address and password, and clicking "Sign In."

3. Double-click on a contact to open the conversation window. Note that the contact does not need to be online.

4. Click the "IMVironment" button in the top right corner of the window.

5. Select the IMvironment that you want to use. Your Messenger display will change accordingly.
