How to Export a Hebrew Font to a PNG thumbnail

Microsoft Windows computers include language packs with font characters for most of the alphabets used across the world, including Hebrew. You can export a Hebrew font to a PNG image file to display the font characters as an image using the Windows Hebrew language pack and the text tool in the Microsoft Paint program on your computer.

Instructions

  1. Load the Hebrew Language Pack

      Click “Start” on the desktop taskbar. Select “Control Panel” in the Start menu, and then click “Clock, Language and Region."

      Click the blue “Change Keyboards and Other Input Methods” link in the Region and Language section. Click the “Keyboards and Languages” tab at the top of the dialogue box. Click “Change Keyboard” followed by “Add” to launch the Add Input Language window.

      Click and select “Hebrew (Israel)” from the alphabetical list of available language packs. Click and enable the check box beside “Keyboard.” Click “OK” to save the changes.

      Right-click on a blank area of the main desktop taskbar at the bottom of the screen, and then select “Toolbars” followed by “Language Bar” in the context menus. You can now access the Hebrew characters by clicking the language button in the desktop taskbar.

    Create a PNG Image File

      Launch Microsoft Paint. The program opens with a new, blank image file displayed in the main pane.

      Click on the “handle” dot in the bottom-right corner of the new image window. Drag the window to your preferred image size.

      Click the “A” text tool button in the “Tools” group in the main menu ribbon. Click the language button in the desktop taskbar to switch to Hebrew characters.

      Type the Hebrew font characters that you want to display in the image file. Highlight the text and choose your preferred font face, font style and font size from the option buttons in the “Font” group on the “Text” tab of the main menu ribbon.

      Click “File” and point to “Save As” in the drop-down menu. Select “PNG Picture” in the context menu. Type a file name for the image with the Hebrew font characters. Click the “Save” button.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also save the image as a JPG, BMP or GIF image from Paint’s “Save As” menu.

  • Switch back to English keyboard characters by clicking the language button in the desktop taskbar.
