How to Design an IMVU Profile
A profile page on IMVU is your personal site and displays your content to other members of this social networking community. When you first create your profile, IMVU gives you a page that has a preset style, but you can change these features using the tools in your account. Design page elements, including the background, panel headers and text colors to customize your profile as you prefer.

Log in to your IMVU account and click your avatar name in the menu bar to go to your profile page.

Click the "Edit" button in the upper-right corner of your page and select the "Page background" option from the drop-down list. This action opens the control panel for your profile background.

Use the menus in the control panel to create your background design. For instance, click a shade in the color wheel to apply a solid background color, or enter an image URL in the "URL for image background" text field to attach a picture to your profile layout. Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the panel to continue.

Click the "Edit" button in the top corner of a panel such as "About Me." Select the "Header text color" or "Header background" option to change the characteristics of the title that spans the top of the panel. Click a shade in the color wheel, or enter an image URL in the designated text field to design the header. Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the window to apply your changes.

Click a panel's "Edit" button and select the "Body text color" or "Body background" item to design the main content area of the panel. Use the menus in the control panel that opens to select a shade or background image. Click the "Save" button in the window to apply the styles.

Tips & Warnings
Get an image URL for your background by bringing up a free picture host, such as TinyPic or Postimage.org, in your browser. Click the "Open" or "Browse" button, select your file and follow the on-screen instructions to upload your photo. Copy the address that automatically displays at the end of the process.
A panel on your IMVU profile is a particular section, such as "My Groups," that contains your content.
