How to Check If a TP Exists in Another Box With SAP

TP is a transport control program that monitors information transfer between various SAP components. TPs can be run on datasets as a whole or in specific boxes within them. If you are in a box in a dataset, you can find a TP command in another box by performing a full-set search. Running an all-box search requires a few steps to set up it up properly, but the process will find TP commands and tell you what boxes they are in.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your dataset in SAP. If you are editing a particular box, close out of that box to view the full set.

    • 2

Scroll to “Search” in the “Tools” menu. Click “Create.”

    • 3

      Click “Advanced search help.”

    • 4

Type “tp-“ (no quotes) into the “Description” box. Leave the “Short text” box empty.

    • 5

Press "Enter." This will search all the boxes for any phrase beginning with TP. Depending on the size of your data set, this may take a minute or two. The results will pop up when the search completes.
